Pictet Asset Management (Pictet AM) has announced the launch of Pictet-EUR Income Opportunities. The fund is primarily for European investors seeking reliable income with limited duration risk.

A one-stop-fixed income solution, Pictet-EUR Income Opportunities invests across EUR denominated Investment Grade and High Yield Credit, as well as to money market instruments and sovereign bonds.

The fund will invest at least 75 percent of assets in European credit, reflecting our belief that this sector offers attractive yields and an enhanced risk/return ratio versus government bonds. However, the ability to invest across sovereign bonds and money market instruments reduces volatility in periods of market stress. By only investing in EUR denominated bonds, the currency risk is also removed.

Pictet-EUR Income Opportunities is managed by Jon Mawby and Charles-Antoine Bory who have combined experience of 34 years. The capital allocation is determined by the Systematic Research team who optimise the positioning to maximise the income versus risk. The investment team enhances the selection of holdings according to their long-term convictions. Their fundamental credit analysis is supported by a team of analysts. The managers draw on the expertise of the wider Pictet AM Fixed Income team of over 120 investment professionals.

Jon Mawby said “For over a decade, central banks have supressed bond yields using ultra loose monetary policy. With policy now normalising, exposure to fixed income can once again offer a core role in investors’ portfolios by providing reliable income and diversification. However, shifting interest rate policy means that investing in the asset class requires expertise to navigate volatility. We are fortunate at Pictet AM that we have both the breadth and depth of inhouse experts to offer such a solution for investors”.

The fund is a Luxembourg SICAV and is registered for sale in the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Chile, Cyprus, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Liechtenstein, Malta, Netherlands, Peru, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
