After more than 18 years within the private banking division of the BNP Paribas Group, Nicolas L’Hermite has reached a decisive milestone by joining wealth management specialist Norman K., which is establishing a presence in Luxembourg. As CEO and Equity Partner of Norman K. Luxembourg, he has been entrusted with developing the group’s activities in the Grand Duchy. He sees this “new, meaningful adventure” as an opportunity to reinvent wealth management in the service of ultra-high-net-worth individuals in Europe. A portrait of a passionate entrepreneur, as comfortable navigating the inner workings of finance as he is on trail-running paths or motorcycle roads.

Nicolas L’Hermite’s family history is rich, shaped by both Lorraine and Luxembourg roots. Born in Nancy, he comes from a paternal family originally from the Metz area and established in Lorraine for five centuries, while his maternal Luxembourgish roots grant him dual French-Luxembourg nationality.
After studying at Sup de Co Toulouse, he specialised in wealth management at ESCP Paris, where he developed a passion for advising affluent clients.
In 2007, a VIE (International Corporate Volunteering programme) assignment with BNP Paribas took him to Luxembourg.
An “audacious” choice
A decision he describes as “audacious”: “All my friends wanted to stay in Paris to work in private banking, but for both personal and professional reasons, I wanted to come to the Grand Duchy,” he admits.
In October 2008, he joined BNP Paribas Personal Investors as Sales Team Manager in Private Banking, leading a nine-person team responsible for offering investment solutions to affluent international clients and high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs).
In 2012, he moved on to BNP Paribas Wealth Management. Over the next 13 years within the group’s private banking division, he successively held the positions of Private Banker, Private Banker – Key Client Group, Senior Private Banking Manager – Strategic Clients (with assets exceeding €100 million), Head of Business Development – Strategic Clients, and finally Head of Business Development and member of the Management Team.
Throughout his 18-year career with the banking group, he acquired solid expertise in private banking and wealth management, serving high-net-worth individuals and families. “My role was to act as a ‘single family office’ and provide 360-degree management through a highly bespoke approach,” he explains. “This background and rich experience also enabled me to develop the ability to innovate within a large institution, while building intrapreneurial projects.”
A new entrepreneurial chapter
In 2025, he decided to turn the page and embark on a new entrepreneurial journey, taking on the role of CEO and Equity Partner of Norman K. Luxembourg.
Founded by four partners and based in Paris, Nice, London and Geneva, the wealth management specialist group was keen to establish a foothold in the Grand Duchy.
Nicolas L’Hermite’s role in the entity’s Luxembourg development is strategic: “My contribution rests on two components: my Luxembourg footprint within the financial ecosystem, and the fact that I have covered all client segments, including the very top end,” he explains.
Norman K. provides investment advisory solutions for international entrepreneurs, families and institutional clients; structuring and financing advisory services; and strategic and investment advice to international entrepreneurs for their professional activities.
Its business vision is built on a differentiated and integrated approach to wealth management, structured around four key verticals: asset management, credit structuring, private markets, and family office services.
Norman K. also has an asset management company, Norman K. Asset Management, authorised by the AMF, notably as an AIFM manager.
Reinventing wealth management
For Nicolas L’Hermite, this new professional challenge is both a continuation and an evolution: “The idea of starting the second half of my career with a different development focus appealed to me, because it aligned with my vision of how the wealth management industry is evolving,” he explains.
He also sees Norman K. as an opportunity to reinvent wealth management by placing the client at the heart of the strategy: “It’s no longer about pushing products, but about listening to families’ real needs and responding to them in a bespoke manner,” he says.
His ambition is clear: “I want Norman K. Luxembourg to become a key player for ultra-high-net-worth individuals and strategic clients in Europe.”
To achieve this, he is relying on external growth and the acquisition of local players to strengthen the group’s presence, because “Luxembourg is the European hub for international wealth management. This is where everything happens,” he asserts emphatically.
Trail running, motorcycles and pop art
Between his professional and personal lives, Nicolas L’Hermite also makes time to pursue his passions for trail running and motorcycling: “When I run, it’s a form of meditation. On a motorcycle, I have to be ultra-focused, which clears my mind,” he acknowledges.
His love of art, particularly pop art and contemporary art, also reflects his curiosity and open-mindedness. “At home, you’ll find paintings by Louise Machon, lithographs by Hilaire, and works from the École de Nancy,” he says.
What management style does he intend to instil in the new entity? “I advocate transparent, delegative management,” he replies. “The people who work with me know where we’re heading. And I’m very transparent about what I do.”
He also believes in empowering teams and giving them freedom of action, while remaining available to guide and support them: “I want to see everything, but I don’t intervene in everything. I want people to feel free to deploy their talents,” he adds.
For Nicolas L’Hermite, this new chapter with Norman K. will be rich in meaning and opportunity. “I’ve already succeeded, because I dared to jump out of the plane. Now it’s just a matter of letting things unfold,” he concludes confidently.
